A.J. Greathouse may be mentioned as one of the prosperous farmers of Elm Spring Township, Washington Co., AR., and was born in the county in which he now resides in 1852. He attended the University at Fayetteville, AR. After finishing his education he engaged in pedagoguing, becoming one of the successful educators of Northwestern Arkansas, but discontinued this occup[ation to engage in agricultural pursuits. He was a member of the Episcopal Church, South, and in his political vies is a Democrat.
